Dr. Maynard Jordan

A native of Akron, Ohio, Dr. Jordan has a BA and MA from Kent State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia (1975). He has also completed graduate work at the University of Texas - Austin and has attended two theological seminaries, taking much postdoctoral work in the Bible and theology.

Dr. Jordan has taught in a number of colleges or universities since 1966, and presently teaches psychology, sociology, history and political science at several colleges in Kansas as an adjunct. A former pastor, he is a very active lay member in a large Kansas City area church. A writer since 1985 and CEO of a publishing firm, Dr. Jordan created around 50 resources for self-enrichment, empowerment, spirituality and Bible study.

“I’ve been creating Bible quiz games ever since leaving Central Baptist Theological Seminary (Kansas City, Kansas) in 1985 where I did some for classes and was encouraged by faculty and fellow students, many of whom were pastors, to put these creations on the market,” Jordan notes.

“I first created Bible quiz board games using actual blueprints as game boards, and sold quite a few of my Blueprints of Bible Life series. However, board games were difficult to distribute due to their physical size. In the mid-Nineties some of these were programmed into computer interactive disc games somewhat like today’s versions. Many of the original quiz games are still offered today such as ‘Messages & Miracles’ (of Jesus), ‘The Apostle Paul’, ‘The Revelation of John’, and ‘Acts of the Apostles.’”
